Mediterra’s own Chris and Sandy Haas were inspired by Naples' booming pickleball scene to bring the excitement up north. Recognizing the sport’s rapid growth, they decided to transform one of the properties from their commercial real estate portfolio into something extraordinary. After identifying the perfect location among their 1.5 million square feet of space, they partnered with Justin Hellinger—a talented pickleball player with deep connections in the pickleball community. Together, they built Cleveland Premier Pickleball Club, the largest indoor pickleball facility in Ohio, in just 73 days.

The 50,000-square-foot facility offers a comprehensive sports experience, blending pickleball, a padel court (the fastest-growing sport in Europe), two golf simulators, and ping-pong tables. The grand opening attracted over 400 guests, and the club gained 500 members within just 12 days, thanks to Justin’s network and the club’s standout offerings. Today, membership has nearly reached 600, and the facility has hosted tournaments with over 500 players, earned recognition from major pickleball organizations, and even caught the attention of JOOLA, a top pickleball brand, as one of the best-designed clubs in the country.

The family-focused culture of the club shines through, with Chris and Sandy’s daughter, Stephanie, taking on the role of Director of Operations. After coaching women’s basketball at Ohio University, Stephanie saw the perfect opportunity to return to Cleveland and dive into her love for sports. She and Justin worked tirelessly to bring the vision to life, balancing operations and player development.
